Like a kind of self-contained viewing station, Anne Vieux stages each component of her immersive painting in the Skybridge Project Space to envelope the viewer into a luminescent environment of tonal hues.

Vieux is creating an immersive painting in the Skybridge Project Space at Elsewhere. The environment will provide an experience for the audience to engage with an altered space evoking a feeling of floating, literally and figuratively. Painting constructs of the window, mirror, and frame are questioned through the metaphor of the screen. Her work slows down the experience of virtual space, and speeds up painting space, while maintaining a bodily scale and tactility. Using the body as a site within the architecture, Vieux uses digitally manipulated images to craft her environment. Like a kind of self-contained viewing station, Vieux stages each component to envelope the viewer into a luminescent painting of tonal hues.
